Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Munin Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Munin", "we", "us"). They cover the Munin Mac app, the web app at https://app.muninlabs.ai, the website at https://muninlabs.ai and any related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. What Munin does
Munin is AI meeting intelligence software. The Mac app captures meeting audio from your microphone and your computer's sound output, sends it for transcription, and turns each meeting into structured notes: a summary, the decisions made and the questions still open. You can search your meetings and ask questions about them on the website.
2. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one time code. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure and for everything done through your Munin account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
3. Recording other people and identifying speakers
Laws in many places require that everyone in a conversation is told about, or agrees to, a recording. You are solely responsible for telling meeting participants that you are using Munin and for getting any consent the law requires before you record. Do not use Munin to record anyone without their knowledge where that is unlawful.
- Munin does not announce itself. No bot joins your meetings: the Mac app records your microphone and your computer's sound output, and the website records your microphone, so the other participants may not know a recording is being made unless you tell them
- Tell everyone, every time. At the start of each meeting, tell every participant that you are recording with Munin, and get their consent wherever the law requires it. Some places require the consent of everyone in the conversation, for example California, Florida, Illinois and Washington in the United States, and in the European Union recording people and processing their voices is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation. This list is not complete: the rules where you and each participant are apply
- Voiceprints need consent too. When you name a speaker, Munin saves voiceprints of that person (see section 4 of our Privacy Policy). Some laws, such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, treat voiceprints as biometric data and require the person's consent, in some cases in writing, before one is made. Do not name speakers, or keep their voiceprints, where the law requires consent you do not have, and delete a person's voiceprints when they ask you to
- No unlawful or covert use. Do not use Munin to record anyone unlawfully, or to identify, track or profile people
4. Your content
Your recordings, transcripts, notes, questions, and the people and voiceprints in your account ("Your Content") belong to you. You give us a limited permission to store, process and transmit Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you, including sending it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.
5. AI output
Transcripts, summaries and answers are produced by automated systems and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the original recording before you rely on it. Munin does not provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
Speaker identification can be wrong. It can put the wrong name on a speaker, treat two people as one, or miss someone, especially when people speak briefly, sound alike or the audio is poor. Check names before you rely on them. Do not use speaker names, voiceprints or anything else Munin produces as the basis for legal, employment, disciplinary or other decisions that significantly affect a person.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not break the law or violate anyone else's rights through the Service
- Do not try to access other users' data or interfere with the Service's security
- Do not resell the Service or use it to build a competing product
7. Credits, plans and cancellation
You pay for Munin with credits, bought once or through a monthly plan, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. One credit is one minute of recording, and asking Munin a question also uses credits. Credits never expire and can't be exchanged for money. Monthly plans are billed in advance each month; you can cancel at any time and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and the credits it has already given you stay. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next billing date.
8. Ending the Service
You can stop using Munin and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we stop offering the Service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export Your Content.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that transcripts, notes or speaker identification will be accurate or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Munin will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect.
